GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – Tragedy struck on the morning of July 10, 2025.
At about 6 a.m., two vehicles collided, leaving a 6-month-old infant and a 22-month-old toddler dead.
The incident occurred around 6 a.m. on SW Williston Road near the I-75 northbound ramp, according to the Gainesville Police Department.
The collision involved a van and sedan. A 49-year-old Williston man was driving a 2013 Nissan van travelling eastbound on SW Williston Road. The other vehicle, driven by a 28-year-old woman, transporting the two children, were in a 2019 Nissan Altima and were travelling in the opposite direction when the two vehicles collided at the intersection for the I-75 northbound on-ramp.
All four people involved in the accident were transported to the hospital, with the Gainesville woman sustaining serious injuries. The children were pronounced dead at the hospital. The Williston man sustained minor injuries.
