MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) — I-75 southbound lanes are now open after a serious crash Monday afternoon.
Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says that a northbound tractor trailer lost control near mile marker 345, south of Ocala. The truck broke through the guardrail and crossed into southbound traffic.
The semi hit multiple vehicles including two other trucks, an RV, and three cars.
No one was killed or seriously injured in the crash.
Traffic was detoured for about two hours while crews cleared the scene. Drivers may still experience some delays in the area.
Updated article published at 6:08 p.m.: The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) has confirmed that the left and center lanes are now open on I-75 southbound south of SR 200 in Ocala. Continue to use caution and allow for extra time.
FHP is currently working a multi-vehicle wreck on I-75 southbound at mile marker 345 in front of the rest area. Troopers say that a tractor trailer lost control on the northbound side, driving through the median and metal guard rail. When it entered the southbound lanes, it hit several vehicles including two other tractor trailers, an RV, and three passenger vehicles. FHP says that one of the tractor trailers overturned, but there were no major injuries or fatalities.

All southbound lanes are currently blocked due to a crash. Marion County Fire Rescue also has multiple units on the scene.
