Instacart shared its “Snacktime Report” ahead of Super Bowl LVIII, which uses purchase data from the online grocery delivery service to reveal America’s favorite Super Bowl snacks and drinks. Instacart shares that it also relied heavily on consumer insights from the Harris Poll.
And the top pick is…
Americans love tortilla chips. Whether they’re dipping them in salsa, queso and guacamole, or layering them with beef, beans and cheese to make a pile of nachos, Instacart says the true snack MVPs are the crunchy favorite.
Cola, cheese blend, salsa, and pretzels round out the top five. Chicken wings came in at a surprising 11 but, keep in mind, this is a compilation of what people are actually putting in their online shopping carts – not the finished recipe.
Meanwhile, Google curated a list breaking down the most popular dips people in each state are craving for game day. Smoked fish dip won out here in Florida with the majority of our nation’s Midwestern and Northeastern states crowning Buffalo Chicken Dip king.
There were also a few oddballs in there…
Folks in Virginia were most keen on crab dip while taco dip was a favorite in Wisconsin. Hawaiians opted for a creamy, oniony dip called Kamaboko, which is made from a type of cured surimi (imitation crab).
