LAKE COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Lake County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) saved two hikers who were lost for “multiple hours” in the Rock Springs Run Reserve State Park.
LCSO says they received a 911 call on Aug. 31 about two hikers who had gotten lost in the park.
Deputies began searching the park based on coordinates provided by the Lake County Communication Center.

According to LCSO, the hikers did not have a phone signal. To make matters worse, the hiker’s phones eventually died.
LCSO says they requested the assistance of the LCSO Aviation Unit and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission due to the terrain of the park.
The 911 call made to deputies proved imperative to the rescue, as it allowed deputies to instruct the hikers to use a whistle they had to signal their location.
Deputies say they were able to track the hikers down off-trail. They were reportedly both found in “good health,” according to LCSO.
