OCALA, FL (352today.com) – If you hear some big booms Tuesday morning, don’t worry. The city of Ocala is not under attack.

The cannon fire will be coming from the Fort King National Historic Landmark.

It’s part of the Marion County Board of County Commissioners (MCBCC) regularly scheduled meeting being held Tuesday, Nov. 7, 9 a.m. at the  historic site located at 3925 E. Fort King St.

During the meeting, artillery volunteers will conduct live cannon firing starting around 9:15 a.m. to signal a veterans appreciation proclamation presented by the MCBCC.

Residents in the area may hear a series of rounds fired multiple times.
