OCALA, FL (352today.com) – For those who might not yet know, the City of Ocala has been running a free “trolley” in soft-launch mode downtown, Wednesdays through Saturdays, since mid-September 2025, connecting the public parking spaces with shopping, dining and various area landmarks.

It hasn’t been a trolley, per se; it’s been a shuttle bus, but hey, a free ride in air conditioning!

That’s about to change, however: The city will be introducing the actual trolley that will be running what’s called the O-Line with a ribbon-cutting ceremony this Friday, August 28, 2026, at 10 a.m.

The ribbon-cutting will be held at Ocala’s Historic Downtown Square, 1 NE 1st Ave.

The trolley currently runs Wednesday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and 5 p.m.-9 p.m.
