CRYSTAL RIVER, FL (352today.com) – According to the Citrus County Board of Commissioners (BOCC), severe weather – possibly tornadoes – plowed through the town of Crystal River this Thursday morning, Oct. 12, leaving a path of destruction in its wake.
The BOCC shared in a Facebook post that Citrus County Fire Rescue (CCFR) and Citrus County Public Works are both on-site to assess storm damage in the tourist-friendy town. The BOCC added they believe more than one tornado this morning caused the chaos.
Due to the damage, all Citrus County Public Schools (CCPS) and Crystal River city facilities are closed today.
