OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Today is the big day for eager, excited eclipse watchers. If you didn’t purchase safety glasses for you and your family, here are five places you can watch the eclipse and get a pair of glasses.
You can enjoy the eclipse wherever you are, you just can’t safely look at it without a pair of the specialized glasses. Experts say sunglasses are not sufficient to protect your eyes.

It won’t be a total eclipse in North Central Florida. NASA says we will experience 60-70% obscuration and while it’s hard to precisely predict the cloud cover for the exact time of the eclipse and your precise location, the National Weather Service (NWS) says clouds generally will not be a problem across the 352.

Aside from the eclipse, the next thing to look out for is storm weather Wednesday into Thursday. The NWS forecast calls for strong to possibly severe thunderstorms Wednesday night through Thursday along with heavy rain potential.
