FDOT reports that the northbound I-75 off-ramp to C.R. 484 (Exit 341) will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Sunday and Monday, March 16 and 17.

Motorists traveling on I-75 northbound that plan to exit at C.R. 484 are told to continue north on I-75 and exit at State Road 200 (Exit 350), turn left on S.R. 200, then swing back onto I-75 southbound to take the C.R. 484 exit.

FDOT further announces that the C.R. 484 on ramp to northbound I-75 will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 18 and 19.

Motorists who wish to travel north on I-75 should travel east on C.R. 484, turn left at C.R. 475, turn left at Southeast 32nd Street, turn right on S.R. 200, and turn left at the on ramp to northbound I-75.

What’s with the closures?

FDOT reports that the closures will allow a project to resurface I-75 from the Sumter County line to S.R. 200, reconstruct existing median crossovers, add and update guardrails, and maintain nearby drainage.

This first project, labeled 443170-1, reportedly began in early 2023 and will finish this Spring. Its cost is estimated at $28.4 million.

FDOT says a second project, 433651-1, is underway in association with the first project. This second project will see additional turn lanes and extensions at the C.R. 484/I-75 interchange and the C.R. 484/C.R. 475A intersection. The westbound through lanes will be reconstructed, and the existing I-75 bridge will be modified to accommodate the widening.

In addition, FDOT promises improvements to bicycle lanes and pedestrian sidewalks, modifications to medians and upgrades to the existing traffic signals.

The second project began in early 2023 and is slated for completion this Fall. The cost of the project is estimated at $11.6 million
