TALLAHASSEE, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) has kicked off its annual “Stuff the Charger” food drive, collecting non-perishable food donations statewide through November 30. The initiative, organized by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV), aims to support Florida families during the holiday season.
“Through your donations, you will be directly impacting families in need and spreading joy this holiday season,” said FLHSMV Executive Director Dave Kerner. FHP Colonel Gary Howze II emphasized the drive’s importance following this year’s hurricane season impacts.
Most Needed Items:
- Canned meats, vegetables, fruits, and soups
- Stuffing, boxed potatoes, rice, and cornbread mix
- Grits, cereal, and oatmeal
- Nuts, peanut butter, and bottled water
Collection sites are available at all FHP stations statewide, including:
- 600 SE 25th Ave., Ocala
- 6300 NW 13th St., Gainesville
- 16106 SE 19 Hwy., Cross City
- 11319 Ponce DeLeon Blvd., Brooksville
The department partners with local organizations to ensure donations reach families in need throughout Florida.
