Florida Highway Patrol says a pedestrian suffered serious injuries after a vehicle swerved off the road and hit him.
UMATILLA, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is investigating a hit-and-run involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
FHP says a 27-year-old man from Ocala was walking on the grass shoulder of County Road 42, traveling west in the early morning of March 17.
They say a vehicle traveled westbound just behind the pedestrian on County Road 42.

As the two approached the intersection with SE 203rd Ave., the vehicle traveled off the roadway for unknown reasons and collided with the pedestrian.
FHP says the man suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The vehicle involved in the hit-and-run is still on the loose. Authorities seek the assistance of witnesses who may have seen the accident.
