OCALA, FL (352today.com) – If you missed the great news from Marion County Animal Services (MCAS), we’ll get you up to speed: over 450 dogs were adopted at last weekend’s Mega Dog Adoption Event, with MCAS reporting 87 adoptions.

The work to help vulnerable animals in our community isn’t over, though. As of Thursday, May 23, MCAS reported 240 intakes and 92 animals available for adoption.

Some of those animals are a part of the FIDO Project, which pairs shelter dogs with select inmates at the Marion Correctional Institution to be taught basic obedience and socialization. The project has a class graduating on May 24, and 3 dogs are still looking for their new fur-ever homes.

This week in Project Pawsitivity, we’re spotlighting that special trio.
