OCALA, FL (352today.com) – American may run on Dunkin’, but for a few moments Monday morning, first responders were the ones making a run – to the roof.

Ocala Fire Rescue (OFR) responded to a reported structure fire at the Dunkin’ located on NW Blitchton Road. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered what appeared to be a small fire localized on the roof, specifically above the drive-thru window. Crews used a ladder to reach the source and identified an LED lighting fixture with burning plastic components.

The light, likely part of the store’s exterior signage or architectural lighting, had malfunctioned. Firefighters immediately disconnected the electrical source to the fixture and extinguished the flames, preventing further spread and damage.

Multiple fire trucks and firefighters are on scene at a Dunkin' Donuts parking lot, with hoses on the wet pavement and a “Do Not Enter” sign near the building. The emergency response appears organized and active.

No injuries were reported, and the fire was fully contained to the exterior portion of the building. Officials confirmed there was no structural damage or interior fire involvement, allowing the store to resume regular operations shortly after the all-clear was given.

The exact cause of the lighting malfunction remains under investigation.
