MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) units were tasked with putting out a blaze that engulfed a garage, placing animals in danger.
MCFR says the caller resided in a mobile home located on the 14000 Block of NW 188th Place in Fort McCoy. The caller informed units that their attached garage was on fire with animals inside.
The first MCFR units arrived on the scene 20 minutes after being dispatched. They say the garage was destroyed by the fire, with the fire threatening the outside area of the mobile home.

Firefighters quickly deployed hose lines and extinguished the garage fire, protecting the mobile home from destruction.
MCFR says the residents of the mobile home were able to self-evacuate from the house.
The fire was called under control 12 minutes after arrival. They say the residents were able to remove their cats from the home safely. Their pigs were found safe inside their pen near the garage.
No injuries were reported on the scene. The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
