MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Department of Health in Marion County (DOH-Marion) will be closed on Wednesday, January 22.

DOH-Marion states that the closure is in response to “severe weather impacts” that are anticipated to hit North Central Florida tomorrow morning.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory, Cold Weather Advisory, and Freeze Warning for Wednesday, January 22, from midnight to 10 a.m.

NWS forecasts a 100% chance of rain showers on Tuesday night, with a possibility of sleet stretching into Wednesday morning.

Wednesday is projected to reach highs of 47, with lows of 31 early in the day.

DOH-Marion is not the first to announce changes due to Wednesday’s weather. Alachua, Bradford, Levy, Gilchrist, Dixie, Columbia, Union, and Suwannee school districts have all canceled classes for Wednesday.

Marion County Public Schools have canceled outdoor after-school activities on Tuesday.
