MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is investigating a shooting involving a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) trooper and a driver authorities deemed reckless.
FPH say the incident occurred on Sunday evening Interstate 75 (I-75) southbound, south of the 374-mile marker in Marion County.
According to FHP, the incident shut down all southbound lanes at around 6 p.m. on Sunday.
FDLE spokesperson Gretl Plessinger says that investigations are being conducted by the FDLE per request from FHP.

Both Plessinger and FHP Public Information Officer Patrick Riordan say that information will be withheld on the incident until further investigation.
