Oil prices hit lowest point since 2021; Ocala drivers find relief under $3/gallon.
OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Florida gas prices rose to $3.18 per gallon midweek before falling to $3.10 by Sunday, continuing a trend of weekly swings. Since September 2024, the state average has hovered between $2.96 and $3.30 per gallon.
“Florida gas prices are poised to move lower this week,” says Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA – The Auto Club Group. He said oil prices fell last week amid signs that OPEC+ may boost supply, as global economic concerns grow.
U.S. oil closed Friday at $58.29 per barrel, the lowest since April 2021, when Florida gas averaged $2.85 per gallon.
Drivers in Ocala can still find relief below the current state average. According to GasBuddy.com, Murphy USA at 9558 SW 200 and Murphy Express at 7573 SW Hwy 200 were offering gas at $2.93 per gallon on Monday morning.
