OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Florida drivers saw some relief at the pump this weekend as gas prices declined by five cents, following last week’s 17-cent increase. According to AAA – The Auto Club Group, the state’s average gas price settled at $3.17 per gallon on Sunday.
“Florida gas prices continue to follow the same pattern of rising and falling within about the same range every week or two,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA. “Oil prices showed some weakness this past week, but not to a degree that would signal any significant relief at the pump.”
Despite the slight decline, Florida gas prices remain 10 cents higher than last week, 6 cents more than last month, and 2 cents more than this time last year. Among the most expensive metro markets in the state:
- West Palm Beach-Boca Raton: $3.32
- Naples: $3.28
- Ocala: $3.24
Crude oil prices have steadily declined over the past three weeks, dropping 9% in total. On Friday, U.S. crude oil settled at $71 per barrel, down from $72.53 the previous week and well below the 2025 high of $78.71 recorded in mid-January.
