OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Drivers in Florida are seeing a modest rise in gas prices this week. As of Sunday, the state average for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $3.12, up 2 cents from the previous week’s average.

“Despite the modest uptick, gas prices remain within the same range they’ve been in since early September,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesperson for AAA – The Auto Club Group. “During the past three months, the state average has bounced between $2.99 and $3.20 per gallon. Oil prices have remained low during that time, which has prevented any significant jump at the pump.”

Last week, the state average began at $3.10 per gallon, dropped to $3.03 on Friday, and then climbed to $3.12 by Sunday. So far in December, the average price per gallon in Florida has been $3.07, which is 2 cents lower than November’s monthly average and 4 cents less than October’s average.

For budget-conscious drivers, GasBuddy reports that Walmart on SR-200 in Ocala is offering regular unleaded at $2.83 per gallon, providing one of the lowest prices in the area.

As oil prices remain stable, experts predict that fluctuations at the pump will continue to be minimal, keeping gas prices within the same range as recent months.
