GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – UPDATE 11/25: The University of Florida (UF) will honor former quarterback Tim Tebow on Saturday night during the showdown against the Florida State Seminoles.

UF, the National Football Foundation and the College Hall of Fame will jointly honor the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner in The Swamp.

Tebow was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in January.

Additionally, head coach Billy Napier asked Tebow to speak to his struggling team in the locker room before the game against rival and fifth-ranked FSU.

ORIGINAL 11/22: The Florida Gators football team is suiting up this weekend for the last game of the season, and as some would say, the most important.

Florida will take on their in-state rival Florida State University (FSU), a grudge match that dates way back.

And there’s something different about this year – the Seminoles are ranked #5 by the AP Poll and have completely dominated their competition this season.

It’s no secret that Florida has been trying to regain momentum after recent losses. They were unable to bring home a victory against the University of Missouri last weekend. Now, they have to face one of their toughest opponents this season… and it happens to be their biggest rival.

It’s a battle in the Sunshine State as the Gators will host the Seminoles in The Swamp for their last regular game of the season.

FSU is coming off a big win against the University of North Alabama. However, their game also cost them their star quarterback Jordan Travis who suffered a college-career-ending injury in the game.

The Seminoles backup QB Tate Rodemaker was able to come in and help the team seal the victory. But many wonder what this could mean in the match-up against the Gators.

Both teams will be playing without their starting quarterbacks, looking to secure a victory on their last regular game of the season.

Napier says the outcome of the game is in their hands.

“We control how we prepare; we can never lose sight of that. We control our energy. We control our attitude. We control how we prepare,” said Napier in a news conference. “We all understand the importance and magnitude of the rivalry game and certainly an incredible opportunity for our team to play against a well-thought-of Florida State football team.”

The Gators lead the all-time series 37-27. Last year, Florida lost to the Seminoles 38-45 in Tallahassee.

This year, the two will face off in The Swamp and Napier says the game is completely sold out.

If you don’t have tickets, you can watch it on ESPN. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. eastern time.
