GREENVILLE, SC (352today.com) – UPDATE 3/7/2023, 10:14 p.m.: The Florida women’s basketball team is headed to the third round of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Tournament after defeating Vanderbilt 62-59 Thursday night.
Aliyah Matharu had a career high of 35 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals which is the 3rd-most points by a Florida player in an SEC tournament game, according to the SEC Network.
The Gators will now face Ole Miss in the quarterfinals Friday night at 8:30 p.m. on SEC Network.
Texas A&M also defeated Mississippi State 72-56. Tennessee beat Kentucky 76-62, and Auburn dominated Arkansas 67-48. All three teams will advance to the quarterfinals and play Friday as well.

- Texas A&M takes on South Carolina at 12:00 p.m. on SEC Network.
- Tennessee vs. Alabama at 2:30 p.m. on SEC Network.
- Auburn faces LSU at 6:00 p.m. on SEC Network.

ORIGINAL 3/7/2024, 11:24 a.m.: The Gators women’s basketball team has earned themselves a ticket to round two of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Tournament after holding out against Mizzou Wednesday afternoon.
Florida closed out Wednesday afternoon’s game with a 66-60 win over the Tigers.
Key players in Wednesday’s game were senior guard Leilani Correa putting up 15 points, junior guard Alberte Rimdal with 12 points, and senior guard Aliyah Matharu with 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists.
No.13 Georgia and No.12 Kentucky also played in the first round on Wednesday. Kentucky was able to come out with a 64-50 win over the Bulldogs and will now play No.5 Tennessee Thursday.
The Gators will face No. 6 Vanderbilt on Thursday evening.

If Florida can get a win over Vandy, they’ll face No. 3 Ole Miss on Friday night at 8:30 p.m.
