DUNNELLON, FL (352today.com) – The Dunnellon Tigers Youth Athletics community is mourning the loss of former coach Chuck Thomas, who tragically passed away on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, following a severe crane accident at work. Thomas had spent time in the ICU battling his injuries before succumbing to them.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media, the organization wrote, “His kindness, compassion, and unwavering spirit will remain with us always.”
The tragedy comes just three weeks after the Thomas family lost their 16-year-old daughter, Vanessa, to brain cancer. This devastating sequence of events has left Chuck’s wife, Amber Norrie, and their five children without income as Amber has not returned to work since Vanessa’s passing.
The family is now accepting donations to help support them through this loss. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to assist with expenses and provide some relief during this difficult time.
The Dunnellon community has expressed an outpouring of love and support for the family, with many remembering Thomas as a dedicated coach, father, and friend.
