MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) The Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) says a grand jury has indicted a Fort McCoy woman on first-degree murder charges.
MCSO says they arrested 51-year-old Jodie Ann Overholser on Jan. 25 and charged her with selling the drugs that killed a 23-year-old man.
The sheriff’s office says on May 18, 2023, they responded to call where they found Austin Roberson dead from an apparent drug overdose.
In a Facebook post, the sheriff’s office said detectives found drug paraphernalia inside Roberson’s vehicle including a small amount of “white crystalline substance and blue powder substance.”

On May 19, the Medical Examiner’s Office concluded that Roberson died as a result of a “combined drug toxicity.”
While further investigating, detectives say they discovered instant messages between Roberson and Overholser discussing a drug deal on May 17. They say they also found a payment to a Cash App account belonging to Overholser with the amount the two discussed for the exchange.
On June 20, MCSO says they executed a search warrant at Overholser’s apartment. They arrested and charged her with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Detectives say they submitted the drugs found in Roberson’s vehicle for testing to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Results revealed the white substance was methamphetamine, and the blue powder substance was fentanyl.
