Belleview High, Dr. N.H. Jones Elementary, Dunnellon High, and Howard Middle schools all earned the honor this year, highlighting their commitment to academic excellence and specialized learning programs.

For Dunnellon High, this marks the fourth consecutive year receiving the distinction, reinforcing its dedication to maintaining high academic standards and innovative magnet programs.

The National Merit Awards are highly competitive, with schools required to submit comprehensive applications. These applications are evaluated based on commitment to high academic standards, diversity, specialized curriculum and instruction, family engagement, and community partnerships.

Presented annually, the National Merit Awards recognize the most outstanding magnet schools in the country, further emphasizing the role of magnet programs in advancing educational opportunities.
