OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Freedom Public Library kicks off construction of a major expansion with a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. This project will triple the library’s size, offering residents a wealth of new resources.
Funding comes from Marion County ad valorem taxes. The expansion will include:
- More shelving for books and materials
- Comfy study rooms and spacious work areas
- A dedicated children’s area with a story time room
- A larger meeting room for events and voting
- A bookstore supporting library programs
“We are excited to celebrate, along with members of the public, the groundbreaking for the expansion of the Freedom Public Library. We look forward to providing space that is inviting and welcoming to all, where students can study and learn, small and large groups can meet and connect with others and where young children can experience the joy and wonder of reading” stated Julie Sieg, Marion County Public Library System director.
