TALLAHASSEE, FL (352today.com) – A Gainesville man has a million reasons to be happy today after claiming $1 million from winning the GOLD RUSH LIMITED scratch-off game.

On Monday, Lottery officials announced Daniel Spangler claimed his prize from the Lottery’s District Office in Gainesville, choosing to receive his money as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $795,000.

He purchased his ticket at a Publix in Newberry, located at 14130 West Newberry Road. The store will receive $2,000 for selling the winning ticket.

The GOLD RUSH LIMITED, a $20 scratch-off game launched in September of 2021, features 32 top prizes of $5 million. It also pays out 100 prizes of $1 million. The game’s winning odds are 1-in-2.65.

Since established, the scratch-off games have produced over $18 billion for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).
