GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) says surveillance video helped them track down a murder suspect.
On Wednesday, Feb. 28, at approximately 11:30 a.m., GPD says officers responded to the area of 200 NE 16th Ave. after receiving a report of a man found dead in a grassy area between two commercial buildings.
During the investigation, detectives located surveillance video which they say shows a fight between the victim and a man who they identified as 23-year-old Romanda Thompson. GPD says they took Thompson into custody and charged him with murder.
