GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – The City of Gainesville will close a portion of NW 8th Avenue this Saturday, June 7, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. as Public Works teams assess damage caused by a failed storm water pipe.
Repairs to the stretch of NW 8th Avenue between NW 6th and NW 12th Streets are expected to be completed Saturday. Neighbors are advised to follow posted detour signs and use alternate routes around the corridor.
The city’s urban forestry team also will be on-site to structurally prune trees along the route while the roadway is closed to traffic.
