GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – For the third year, the Gator Steps for Lung Disease 5K invites the community to run, walk or just show up on Saturday, March 7, 2026, to support the efforts of Fowler Lung Foundation and University of Florida Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine.
This is a go-at-your-own-pace 5K, and all proceeds support patients (and their families) undergoing treatment for pulmonary fibrosis and sarcoidosis at UF Health. There’s a small registration fee if you plan to participate, but there will be plenty of activities, vendors, speakers, health screenings and educational opportunities open to the public for free at this community event.
The 5K and peripheral goings-on will be located at the UF Cancer & Genetics Research Complex, 2033 Mowry Road, Gainesville. Registration for walkers and runners is $35 in advance, and $40 on the day of the event. Check-in starts at 7 a.m.; the event gets going at 8 a.m., and the 5K starts at 8:30.
