Florida’s win advanced their conference record to 6-4 and overall, 16-7. LSU’s conference record is 4-6 and overall, they’ve won 12 and lost 11.
Gators head coach Todd Golden described their win as a “program-building” win and says that his team played their best game of the year against Auburn.
Despite their huge win, he quickly turned their focus to what the future holds and says it is important that his guys don’t become complacent.
“We’ve got to control the controllables and worry about LSU. Just as quickly as we entered this really safe space and really good spot, if you don’t take care of the games on your schedule that you should, and LSU is not going to be an easy game by any stretch, but my point is just as quickly as it got good for us it can get bad if we don’t take care of business,” stated Golden.
He says they’re at a point in conference play where every single game is important and added that it’s important, they come out Tuesday playing with the same energy and enthusiasm they played with on Saturday which he says ultimately led them to their victory over Auburn.
Last time Florida and LSU faced off was on March 4, 2023, in Gainesville. The Gators came out on top with a 79-67 win over the Tigers. Florida is 31-20 against them at home. However, LSU leads the all-time series 66-51.
