There’s an animated tote board at the top of the campaign website’s homepage, Give4Marion.org which thanks everyone who “participated, promoted and gave.” “We proved that together, we can raise the quality of life for everyone in Marion County … One Passion at a Time!” Though the fundraising blitz is over, you can still donate to the more than 100 local nonprofits.

One of the ways Give4Marion is so successful is what’s called Matching Moments where an organization or an individual will match donations made during a given period. One of the last Matching Moments of the drive was by DeLuca Toyota. They matched gifts up to $100 dollar for dollar until the matching fund of $5,000 ran out. Donating during Matching Moments can help donors get the most bang for their buck by providing twice the support to their favorite nonprofits.

Some of the top fundraisers of the event included Empowered of Central Florida’s The Rock program. The Rock program serves over 9,900 middle and high school students across Marion County with dedicated classrooms fully stocked with items essential to student success: food, clothing, shoes, school supplies, hygiene and feminine hygiene items. More than 200 people donated to this cause raising nearly $127k for the nonprofit – which was the most donations for this year.

Give4Marion tracks each nonprofit’s donation totals and at the end of the event recognizes the top fundraisers in three categories. Members of the Rock program, seen here with the other winners, came in first place for small organizations and raised the most overall with more than $126,000 which will provide supplies critical to student success. Transitions Life Center & Community (TLC), which provides resources for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, came in first place in fundraising for large organizations collecting more than $81,000 and exceeding its goal of $25,000.

Other charitable organizations that saw big numbers included Project Hope of Marion County. It raised more than $73,000 to put toward providing transitional housing for homeless women and children.

Grace Christian School hoped to raise $25,000 and instead finished the fundraising raising nearly $43,000 to help build new classrooms.
