GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – The University of Florida’s (UF) infamous AWOL goats have been found and captured.
Since Aug. 10, UF students have been using Twitter, currently rebranding as X, to document the journeys of two stray goats on campus. They’ve since been spotted trotting down sidewalks, grazing on the lawn and even climbing the roofs of university buildings.
About a week ago, UF’s official Twitter account retweeted a user’s collection of photos of the goats and responded with the phrase, “Send help.” Ever since then, university officials have been trying to track them down. They soon provided a hotline for witnesses to contact with goat sightings and even created a wanted poster.

Finally, UF tweeted an update yesterday morning: an image of a goat in a trailer with the caption, “Goatcha.” Later, they tweeted an image of both goats captured and the phrase, “It was great to be a Florida goater. Time to trade The Swamp for a farm.”
This isn’t the first time goats have been seen roaming Gainesville this year. In early July, the Gainesville Police Department (GPD) received many reports of goats on the loose in the city. Some goats were even reportedly chasing citizens around parking lots. Most of the goats escaped and may still be at large.

Police urge anyone with information about the Gainesville goats to call 352-955-1818 or contact the UF Animal Hospital at 352-392-2235.
