SUMTER COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Oak Hill residents will be sharing the road with golf carts now. The Board of Sumter County Commissioners approved golf cart usage in their community.

Sumter County officials shared in a release Tuesday that residents can now drive golf carts on “designated roads” within the Oak Hill residential community which is part of the Wildwood Country Estates.

Officials say Sumter County Public Works analyzed the “internal roadways” in Oak Hills and also took speed limits, traffic volume, lane width, types of vehicles using the same road systems, and road conditions into consideration.
