GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) is asking for your help with information regarding a shooting that left a man dead early Tuesday morning.

According to GPD, officers responded to 3643 SW 20th Ave. around 1:00 a.m. after receiving multiple calls from citizens stating they had heard gunshots. They also told police that they believed that one person had been shot.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a man with gunshot wounds. Gainesville Fire Rescue (GFR) crews along with those from Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR) responded and concluded that the man was deceased.

Detectives say they are currently conducting a follow-up investigation and are asking anyone with any information about the shooting to contact detectives at 352-393-7681.

They are also asking anyone who might have video footage of the shooting or know of anyone who might have knowledge of any suspicious activity around the time of the incident to contact detectives as well.
