Florida’s second Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday kicked off Aug. 24 and runs through Sept. 6. This event is set to provide some relief for Florida residents. Within this period, you can shop for necessary hurricane preparation items that will be exempt from sales tax.

Tax-free items include a wide range of must-have products including:

  • Hygiene necessities like soap, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, tissues, and sunscreen.
  • Cleaning supplies such as detergent, bleach, dish soap, disinfecting wipes, and trash bags.
  • Pet essentials from specific types of food to waste bags and medications.
  • Electronic devices including radios, batteries, power banks, smoke alarms, and generators.

You can also purchase your items online with no limit on the number of qualifying items you can cart.
