Crews were dispatched at 6:59 a.m. after a 911 caller reported a grease fire in the kitchen. Firefighters from Rainbow Springs arrived within minutes and found active flames inside the 1,000-square-foot residence. An aggressive interior attack was launched, with additional support arriving from Dunnellon, Meadowood Farms, and the Friendship Fire Station.
The fire was fully extinguished by 7:20 a.m. Fire crews confirmed that the flames had not spread beyond the kitchen area. The cause was ruled accidental due to cooking, and no injuries were reported.
