HERNANDO COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) says they arrested two men in connection to a liquor store theft in Spring Hill.
They say they arrested Johnnie Ray Magee, 70, and Michael Terrance Brinson, 64, of St. Peterburg.
Around 3:30 p.m. on December 8, deputies responded to a Walmart liquor store located at 1485 Commercial Way after receiving reports that multiple large liquor bottles had been stolen from the store.
When they arrived at the scene, they say Walmart staff told them the same two men stole several liquor bottles three different times. The staff say the incidents happened between November 9 and December 8.
“Upon review, prior calls for service at this location indicated similar incidents of theft. An open HCSO investigation was pending for the same two suspects,” shared the sheriff’s office in a Facebook post.
HCSO says they received reports that the two men were traveling north on Commerical Way in a white Mercedes. Deputies say they located the car entering a parking lot of another place that sells liquor. They say they found a large number of unopened bottles in the backseat and trunk of the car.
They arrested and charged the duo as follows:
Johnnie Ray Magee
- Grand theft of more than $750 but less than $5,000
- Driving with a suspended or revoked license – third violation
Michael Terrance Brinson
- Grand theft of more than $750 but less than $5,000
Magee was held on a $10,000 bond and Brinson on a $5,000.
