GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – Hear ye, hear ye! The annual Hoggetowne Medieval Faire is bringing its time-traveling revelry to downtown Gainesville’s Depot Park for a single weekend of period fun.

You know the drill: swordplay, Old World craftsmanship, demonstrations of skill and culture, bawdy entertainment, giant turkey legs and more, where the folks who *don’t* dress up are the dorks.

Unfortunately, Hoggetowne–an event that’s hopped around a couple of locations since its longtime home at the Alachua County Fairgrounds was leased to the U.S. Army Reserve in 2020–was only able to secure Depot Park for a single weekend this year, so it’s important that loyalists, fans and those who’ve always been intrigued by the Ren Faire scene but haven’t made it out pack the event so the organizers and vendors can make their nut and continue delivering this wildly engaging tradition to the area.

Unlike most Renaissance Fest-style events, Hoggetowne charges no admission. The faire is also providing transportation from downtown G-ville’s two parking garages to the park, making access easy for all the local lords and ladies.
