OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Ocala Metro is an area on the rise, and so are its culinary options. Kevin Sheilley, President/CEO of the Ocala Metro Chamber and Economic Partnership (CEP), dished out the details on three new dining spots to explore.
Two of the restaurants are in Ocala’s latest hot spot: Midtown Station. This culinary and social hub, which opened in September on the south end of Tuscawilla Park, features six diverse food vendors. Among them are La Pinsa and Chicken Spit.
La Pinsa offers a twist on a classic Roman dish known as pinsa, a lighter and crispier alternative to traditional pizza. Guests can enjoy signature creations like the Funghi pinsa or build their own.
Chicken Spit serves up tender chicken thigh shaved fresh off the spit, with sides like zesty black beans with rice or an Asian slaw. If you’re in the mood for a handheld bite, they offer chicken hand-rolled in roti, a buttery Indian flatbread.
The third restaurant is a chain that is highly anticipated in the area. Cava, a Mediterranean fast casual spot, will open a new location in Ocala. Cava boasts fresh and bold flavors in customizable bowls, salads, and pitas- think Chipotle, but with a Mediterranean twist. This location is set to open early 2025 on Highway 200, next to Rooms to Go.
