GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – Warmer days are approaching, and if you’re looking for a four-legged pal to take some spring neighborhood walks with, or a hairy housemate to welcome you when you get back home, the Humane Society of North Central Florida‘s Adoption Event Days are here to help you connect with a new furry family member.
From March 18-21, 2026, the Gainesville facility is allowing patrons to peruse its dog kennels (1-3 p.m. daily) and cat rooms (10 a.m.-noon and 1-4:30 p.m. daily) to find the perfect permanent companion. They’re also reducing their adoption fees for pets five months and older during the adoption drive, to $50 for cats and $100 for dogs.

(If an animal’s location is listed as “Foster” in their profile, they are currently living in a foster home–you can arrange a meet-and-greet with a fostered animal during Adoption Event Days by completing an adoption application, then calling 352-373-5855 or emailing info@humanesocietyncfl.org to schedule.)
All cats and dogs available for adoption are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on their vaccinations. The Humane Society of North Central Florida is located at 4205 NW 6th St. in Gainesville.
