GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – Peace, love and puppy kisses were in abundant supply at ‘Woofstock,’ the Humane Society of North Central Florida’s (HSNCF or Society) annual fundraising gala and so was the giving.
The animal welfare organization is wagging its tail, announcing that the event raised a record-breaking $71,000, surpassing all previous milestones.
Around 300 people dressed in their best hippie-inspired attire of tie-dyed shirts, bell bottom pants and headbands showed up for the event held on November 2 at Santa Fe River Ranch.
There were plenty of puppies present to show their gratitude by snuggling up to the donors.
The Society says the funds will play a pivotal role in advancing their “mission to eliminate the needless euthanasia of healthy and treatable pets” in their service area.
“We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible outpouring of support from our community. The record-breaking success of this year’s gala is a testament to the shared commitment to animal welfare across North Central Florida,” said Chelsea Bower, HSNCF Executive Director. “These funds will empower us to expand our reach, amplify our impact, and continue to bring about positive change in the lives of pets and the people who love them in our area.
