OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Central Florida Dog Hunters (CFDH) is looking for volunteers to assist in the cleanup of designated areas within the Ocala National Forest this Saturday, April 20.

Over the years, CFDH has collaborated with the forestry department and Marion County Solid Waste to organize road cleanups in sections of the forest that have been plagued by illegal trash dumping. The initiative is typically scheduled around Earth Day which this year falls on Monday, April 22.

Board director Angelo Ippolito says CFDH plans to utilize 50 volunteers this year, aiming to expand the coverage to a wider area of the forest. The meeting location is at the Sunnyhill Restoration Area near the horse corral on SE 182 Ave. Rd., just southwest of 115 St. at 7 a.m. Dumpsters will be in place there until 3 p.m.

“We will meet at this location to hand out contractor trash bags and the highlighted map of designated forest roads littered with trash,” said Ippolito.
