OCALA, FL (352t0day.com) – The 2024 FAFO Ocala Arts Festival brought a burst of creativity and excitement to downtown Ocala on October 26-27, with more than 140 artists and performers filling the streets, drawing an estimated 25,000 visitors throughout the weekend.
Organized by Fine Arts for Ocala (FAFO), the festival is an annual celebration of the arts, featuring diverse artworks, street performances, and an array of food trucks. The event not only supports local culture but also raises funds for arts education and outreach in the Ocala community.

The festival was abuzz with various activities and talents. Jordan Wiedencaum delivered an engaging street performance, while local author Robyn Mendola shared her newly published children’s book, Kitty by the Sea, with eager young readers.
Over at Gary Whalen’s booth, photography prints attracted numerous admirers, and families delighted in viewing elementary school art, with young Harper Thursby, 8, proudly showcasing her own creations at the Madison Street Elementary school booth.

FAFO staff added to the excitement with a colorful paint-splattering event in honor of the mural’s announcement, while high-energy performances from West Port High School dancers and musician Avery Wilson captivated audiences throughout the weekend.
The festival also offered an assortment of crafts, with African baskets and other unique handmade items proving popular with visitors. Food trucks provided an eclectic mix of delicious treats, adding to the lively atmosphere.

As festival-goers left with souvenirs and memories, FAFO organizers reflected on the impact of art in the community. “We’re grateful for the support, and we’re already looking forward to next year,” a FAFO spokesperson shared. “Bringing art to the heart of Ocala is what we’re all about.”
