LADY LAKE, FL (352today.com) – The Lady Lake Library is doing its part to make sure students at a local elementary school are prepped and ready for the school year.
The library donated over 800 items including backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and more to The Villages Elementary of Lady Lake as part of the “School Supplies for Fines” program.
The program works with local libraries letting people with overdue library fees pay them with donations of school supplies.
In this particular instance, Lady Lake Library donated a value of $800 worth of library fines in school supplies.

The donations from the library come just in time for the start of the school year on August 12.
This year marks the second year in a row for the “School Supplies for Fines” program.
The Town of Lady Lake gives the program a thumbs up, saying it’s “an ideal way for patrons to pay off fines while giving back to the community.
The town says it is “grateful for the outpouring of support from our generous community.”
