LADY LAKE, FL (352today.com) – Amanda McLea has been elected to serve as the Lady Lake Town Commissioner for Ward 2 following the March 24, 2026, Special Election.
McLea was sworn in during the April 6 Town Commission meeting and will fill the unexpired term of the late Commissioner John Gourlie through November 2028. She took just over 50 percent of the vote in the three-way election.
A longtime Lady Lake resident with deep family roots in the community, McLea brings a background in healthcare leadership and operations management. As a facilities director, she has overseen infrastructure, operations and multimillion-dollar budgets, providing experience in planning and fiscal responsibility.
McLea ran on a platform focused on responsible growth, public safety and maintaining the character of Lady Lake while preparing for future development. She emphasized the importance of balanced decision-making, strong neighborhoods and open communication between residents and town leadership. McLea also highlighted her commitment to leadership that listens and prioritizes residents, drawing on her experience as a healthcare professional, community leader and parent.
“Lady Lake isn’t just where I live—it’s home,” McLea said in a Facebook post. “My family’s roots here go back generations, and service to this community runs deep. I’m committed to keeping our neighborhoods strong, safe and connected while ensuring thoughtful growth for the future.”
She also serves as the president of the Sunrise Rotary Club, which just this week brought to fruition a years-long project to install a Safe Haven Baby Box at a Leesburg Fire Department station.
