LAKE COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Lake Apopka West Shore Boat Ramp, located at 17710 Broad St., Montverde, will be closed from 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, through 10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18. During that time, the boat ramp will be utilized for transportation of construction materials and equipment to Ferndale Preserve.

The Ferndale Preserve project includes the construction of a new observation tower, a fishing pier, and a kayak and canoe launch. The Lake Apopka West Shore Boat Ramp will be closed intermittently during construction.

Patrons are encouraged to use the McDonald Canal Boat Ramp, located at 24600 County Road 448A, Mount Dora, as an alternative launch and retrieval site for Lake Apopka.
