MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – A man riding a lawnmower was struck and killed by a pickup truck in Marion County at around 6:30 p.m. on the evening of Wednesday, April 1, 2026, according to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol.
A 51-year-old Inverness man was driving a Ford F-150 southbound on NW 118th St. Rd. when he reportedly left the roadway through a tight curve, hit a traffic control sign and then struck a 73-year-old man operating a John Deere riding mower traveling west to east on the shoulder of the road.
The operator of the lawnmower was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
