GAINESVILLE, FL (352today.com) – Many individuals dedicate their lives to their communities, prioritizing giving back. Albert Fuller is one such person.

During his 38-year career with UF/IFAS Extension, Fuller is said to have made a significant impact through the development of innovative programs and the promotion of leadership among youth.

In a news release from UF/IFAS, they say Fuller played a key role in establishing Florida’s extensive 4-H camping programs. They also say that his initiatives, like the marine ecology program for Levy County third graders and the “I Can We Can” challenges, have positively affected many. In recognition, Florida 4-H has inducted Fuller into the Florida 4-H Hall of Fame.

Florida 4-H highlighted Fuller’s embodiment of their core values, citing more than forty years of his leadership in agriculture and youth development. They say his post-Extension career is marked by significant community service, including heading the Otter Creek Planning and Zoning Council and spearheading a community garden in Williston. They say his commitment to progress is further demonstrated by his ongoing mentorship and education of minority landowners, focusing on income generation and landowner assistance initiatives.

“My initial impressions of Albert were of a remarkable presence. He possesses unparalleled wisdom and has a remarkable ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds,” said Florida 4-H Program Leader Stacey Ellison in the release.

The Florida 4-H Hall of Fame induction is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 1, at the University of Florida J. Wayne Reitz Union in Gainesville. For additional details or to participate, visit the event’s website.
