LEVY COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – On December 9, 2025, Deputy Kaliegh Richetti and Corporal Kellie Kimpel were on patrol in Fanning Springs. The deputies spotted a bicyclist traveling in an unsafe manner against traffic as well as having no red-light reflectors while traveling at or after dusk. They contacted the operator, identified as David Beech (9/23/77) of Fanning Springs.
Deputies noted Beech’s unusual behavior and profuse sweating, even though it was nearly 40 degrees outside, during this encounter. K-9 Deputy Brandon Cobb came to assist. Deputies located five grams of methamphetamines in Beech’s pocket with the assistance of K-9 Beast. Beech was arrested and booked into the Levy County Detention Center for possession of methamphetamines.
On December 13, 2025, Deputy Burt Miller was on patrol in Morriston and stopped a silver Ford truck for an equipment violation. Deputy Miller’s investigation determined the driver, Patrick Kelly (5/16/81) of Morriston, had been operating the truck for nearly three years without proper registration, insurance and no driver’s license. A search of the vehicle prior to it being impounded revealed methamphetamines hidden inside. Kelly was arrested and booked into the Levy County Detention Center for possession of methamphetamines, DWLSR and operating an unregistered vehicle.
On December 13, 2025, Deputy Kaliegh Richetti and Deputy Burt Miller were on patrol in Cedar Key. The deputies observed a minivan being operated without headlights after dark and without a visible tag. The operator, identified as Thomas Street (5/13/63) of Cedar Key, was found wearing a headlamp and seated in the driver’s seat.
Deputies observed a glass smoking pipe with smoke coming from the bowl in the center console when they contacted him. Street told deputies he only operated the vehicle on back roads because he knew it was not properly registered. A search of the minivan prior to it being impounded discovered six grams of methamphetamines and five grams of fentanyl along with other items of drug paraphernalia. Street was arrested and booked into the Levy County Detention Center and charged with possession of methamphetamines, possession of fentanyl, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating an unregistered vehicle.
On December 16, 2025, Deputy Andrew Heckle was conducting traffic enforcement in Chiefland when he observed a silver passenger car being driven with only one working headlight. This vehicle was stopped and the driver, Krista Monroe (7/4/94) of Chiefland, was contacted. A computer check identified Monroe was wanted in Alabama. Deputy Heckle asked Monroe and her passenger, David Wilkins (12/6/89) of Chiefland, to exit the vehicle.
Deputy Heckle’s traffic stop investigation determined both Monroe and Wilkins were in possession of methamphetamines and controlled prescription narcotics prescribed to another person. Both were arrested and booked into the Levy County Detention Center. During this arrest Deputy Heckle saw Monroe’s pants were undone and her zipper was down. He questioned her and asked if she had any illegal substance hidden on her body. She denied having any other narcotics. However, upon her entry into the Detention Center the body scanner identified a foreign object hidden in her “unmentionables.” The object was recovered and found to be a baggie of methamphetamines. She was additionally charged with introduction of contraband into a detention facility.
