OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Some people are just tough to buy gifts for–they either already have everything, or don’t want anything.

This holiday season, if you’re stuck shopping for someone impossible and looking for some truly out-of-the-box suggestions for presents, you could do worse than a trip to an auction.

352Today dropped by the monthly Public Equipment Auction at Weeks Auction Co. in Ocala in November, and were shocked and entertained by the sheer, weird breadth of items on display. In addition to the expected universe of used tools, farm equipment, shop shelving and trailers, we found a whole bunch of, er, inspiring left-field gift ideas on the property as the auctioneers moved through the massive grounds in two PA-equipped trucks, pointing out items and firing through the bidding in classic machine-gun fashion.

Here are five of the most interesting objects we encountered

A broken-in ambulance

Do you know someone who’s always looking for a unique expression of their identity in their clothes, their music, their car? It doesn’t get much more original than picking the bros or the ladies up for a night on the town in a decommissioned ambulance. Plus, they’ll never have to look for a great parking spot and would be halfway to starting a local Ghostbusters 2.0 franchise.

A shipping container

It’s the ultimate man cave or she shed, a blank canvas upon which to imprint one’s personality while creating the perfect backyard fortress of solitude. And if they want to do some heavy-duty customization, we’re pretty sure we saw an acetylene torch at the auction, too.

A personal all-terrain sports vehicle

This definitely transcends “dune buggy”–it’s more like if someone made a really dangerous theme-park thrill ride out of Oakley sunglasses. Not strictly street legal, but then again, perhaps your partner isn’t, either.

Steps to nowhere

Is it art? Furniture? A striking statement on the fundamental meaninglessness of existence? Maybe you’re just tired of someone in your life complaining about having to replace their rotting deck stairs. They’ll never have to replace these; in fact, they better be sure where they put them is where they want them. Like, forever.

A …whatever this is

Well, whatever it is, you can be sure they don’t already have one.
